School History

Score Academy is the accredited K-12 private school within Score At The Top Learning Centers, which have been family owned and operated since 1980, when Judi Robinovitz, Certified Educational Planner, started the first Learning Center in New Jersey.

When Judi moved to Florida in 1992, she opened Score At The Top Learning Center in Vero Beach. The center was designed to provide students and their families with academic support and guidance beyond what was available in local schools. Over time, we encountered a population of students whose needs were not being met in a traditional school environment. Many of these students were utilizing our Learning Center for far more than tutoring. Our academic coaching turned into educational mentoring, which prompted us to seek accreditation so we could create customized curricula to meet individual student needs, offer courses for credit, part-time and full-time schooling, and even graduate students and issue diplomas.

With an individualized approach to education, Score Academy matches curriculum – from remedial and on-level to honors and Advanced Placement – to each student’s specific learning style and personal goals. Score Academy focuses on one student at a time, creating an individual education plan and schedule for each student based on academic needs, learning style, and personality. Thus, we are in a position to accept any student who has the potential to succeed in our environment.

Over the years, Score Academy has expanded to several locations in Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade counties, inspiring hundreds of local students to academic success. Through our blended virtual learning environment, Score has reached many more students around the world. We plan to continue Score’s growth by opening additional schools in Florida and other states.

In addition to enrolling students in grades K through 12 on a rolling basis throughout the year, we offer summer school at all grade levels, and individual courses for credit throughout the year for students who want to enhance their curriculum or improve their GPA. We are proud of the fact that all Score Academy graduates have continued their education in 4-year universities across the nation.

Based on the quality of our academic and student services, Score achieved SACS CASI accreditation in 2003 in Palm Beach Gardens, with each location following suit shortly thereafter. By 2011, Score achieved SACS and AdvancED “district” accreditation for all its existing and future schools. Accreditation reflects our commitment to providing our students with the highest quality of private-school education coupled with continuous improvement of services.

Score Academy is a member of the College Board; our AP courses and teachers are individually certified by the College Board. We have been approved by the state of Florida to accept the McKay, Gardiner, and FTC Scholarships in Boca Raton, Palm Beach Gardens, and Wellington. The NCAA Eligibility Center accepts our core courses in fulfillment of academic eligibility requirements for athletes. The Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) has authorized Score to issue the I-20 to international students who wish to attend one of our schools.
